Yellow Pine

Yellow Pine… a small mountain town with endless possibilities!

Great Location

Hunting, Fishing, and Plenty of OHV Trails for Summertime Fun.

Yellow Pine Idaho is located 50 miles east of McCall.  To the North is the Payette National forest and to the South is the Boise National Forest.  Yellow Pine is on the East Fork of the South Fork.  There is amazing fly fishing surrounding the town and it is located in unit 25 for deer, elk, and cougar hunting.

Endless trails for off-roading surround Yellow Pine.  Check out the new online map that the Idaho Department of Parks and Rec has put together.

Yellow Pine is also home to some of the best snowmobiling in Idaho.  Considered one of Idaho’s best kept secrets, the sledding around the warm lake and thunder mountain areas provide endless trails and endless fun.  Don’t have your own sled?  There are many shops in McCall and Cascade providing daily snowmobile rentals.  One of our favorites is Intermountain Powesports Rentals in Cascade, make sure to say hi to JD and Mary for us.

Yellow Pine Events

Yellow Pine is home to the annual harmonica festival.  During the harmonica fest a stage is set up in town and vendors line the street.  Some of the most talented harmonica players come from throughout the US to play in our  little town.  Our streets are lined with vendors of all sorts and we have fun activities including face painting for the kids.  Festivities start around ten and music carries on late into the night.  There is also an old fashioned auction with many great items and a pig roast put on by our community members and families.

The harmonica festival is the biggest event of the year, but don’t miss the 4th of July festivities.  We have fireworks, food & even a parade featuring our very own Miss Yellow Pine, Sundy Marten!  The little ones get a sash and can ride along in the parade.  There are numerous campsites surrounding the town making it perfect for an inexpensive weekend family getaway.

Don’t forget to come enjoy our town during the quieter winter months.  Throughout the winter there are other various events perfectly suited for families.  There is ‘Sarge’s Cross Country Ski Race’ that takes racers through the town, the annual ‘St. Valentine’s Day Pie Contest’ and St. Patrick’s Day festivities.
